Hi,
I know this was asked a while back but I am still wondering how it might be possible to buy just the chip, wiring, and contacts to contect a modern EF lens to a modern NEX body and/or Micro 4/3 body with controls; power, aperture, focus, IS, EXIF.
I am building a unique custom adapter and it looks like I will have to buy the Metabones smart adapter for $400 just for these parts. Specifically, I need to close down the lens aperture and all the new lenses have better optics but no external aperture ring.
The adapter I am building would be in place of the adapters that have manual aperture controls and it would not allow for such a device to be implamented into the design. So I need to control the lens aperture and that is only available electronicaly.
Once I have a working prototype I will need to find a source for just the electronic parts because it would be far too time consuming and costly to continue this method of buying $400 adapters and throwing most of it away.
Would the electronic parts be for sale at a minimum quantity? Is there a supplier I can contact?
Thanks. |

Conurus has an agreement with Metabones to supply the electronic technology exclusively to Metabones. So, unfortunately Conurus will not be able to sell the electronics to anybody else.
If you are inventing a commercially viable product, let's talk together with Metabones. We won't have time to assist anyone on one-offs or hobbyist projects. Thanks for your understanding but we only have limited time and we want to dedicate all of that to our patrons. _________________ I am a bird and I uncovered the E, EF and N-mount communication protocols! |
