What would you like to mount on your Canon? This poll helps me determine the highest priority.

Well, I am a new user of the Contax N System. Having a 645 system is a natural YES for an adapter to allow the use of the 645 optics on Canon Digital Full-frame SLR.

Probably following afterwards would be the 50mm adapter and then the 85mm. Guess I have to look around for the 17-35mm zoom. Just how hard are these zoom to find?

Your poll was the incentive I needed to register to the forum rather than continually browse the website. I am anxiously awaiting the 645 adapter, so much so that I had been in discussion (with a company in the lens mount conversion business) about doing marketing and engineering research into creating our own Contax-EF adapters. Before we got off the ground someone saw that Conurus already had done the research and had a solid solution. Kudos for your foresight and ability. As a photographer my first concern still is: I am incredibly anxious to be able to use my 645 lenses on my 1DsMkII. I love the Contax lenses and find the Canon a very useful tool; I can't wait to marry them.
Thank you,
Photodork

Hey Conurus,

You would make me one of he happiest photographer in the world if you completed the 645 adapter. I'm using my jedi persuasion. You don't need anymore N conversions...These aren't the droids your looking for...

Like I Said Before....
All Of The Above... But That's Not A Choice...

I Have The 17-35, Converted, As You Know..
The 100mm On It's Way To Bo-Ming....
The 28-80, 50, And The 70-200 Waiting In The Wings...
And If I Could Ever Find A 400mm For Less Than $3,000, It Would Be In The Wings Also....

John R

Dear Conurus -

I purchased a 50mm 1.4 N Planar, and an 80mm 2.0 "645" Planar, in anticipation of your upcoming conversion support for the former, and adapter availability for the latter. When do you anticipate these becoming available? Many thanks! John (PS - re: the 645 adapter, I would recommend you consider 2 versions - a simple, "straight" adapter for those who don't need the shift function, and a shift version for those who do.)

Conurus
How far are you away from producing a 50 f1.4 converter and the 645 adaptor. Months years?

I checked the spot for the 70-200 but I would also like to do the 28-80mm. You already have my 17-35, 24-85, and 70-300 currently with you for adaptation.
Thanks,
Jack

I tried to balance your vote out--I want the 28 - 80, 70 - 200, and the 50 1.4. (I have none of these lenses, but I can dream . . . )

I voted for the N50.4 as it's one lens that I could see myself owning in the list provided.

You go Jack.... get em all converted. Very Happy

Imagine if you had sold off all of these like you were planning to for those low prices you had them listed at.

I had one vote and I cast mine for the 50mm f1.4. If there was a second vote option, it would be the 70-200mm f3.5-4.5.

Ditto on the 70-200. I'm surprised the 70-300 took priority over this one.

That probably because there are more 70-300 lenses around than 70-200. The 70-200 lens being a cheaper lens (in construction, design and features) that was introduced later to go with the NX the less expensive, entry level camera in the N line. The 70-300 was essentially the second lens most N1 buyers bought. With the 24-85 it gave users a 24-300mm focal range over 2 lenses. I should also note that when the camera came out, the other lenses (100, 85, 50, 17-35, 400, and the 2 NX zooms) were either not yet, or not readily, available anyway.

And the 70-300 f3.5-5.6 is a nice lens in many, many ways. However, Zeiss/Contax made a mistake in positioning this offering. It should have been a 70-200 f2.8. They compromised a bit too much overall by taking it out to 300mm, where the lens is comparatively weak. Or if they really felt they need a 300mm offering, make it a 100-300 zoom (the 70-100mm space is covered by3-4 other lenses in the line anyway). Just my opinion.

Hi!

A 2,8/70-200mm made by Zeiss/Kyocera was also on my wish list but this lens would be far too expensive.

Regards

Uli
