Hello everyone,

I'll be selling my excellent copy of this lens via eBay. AF works as designed.

Please have a look:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/263083505371?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649

Pictures uploaded there.

Asking $900 but will consider other offers through eBay only, payment by PayPal. I'll pay the fees, you pay the shipping.

See my post and listing for my 17-35mm f/2.8 and 85mm/1.4 AF on this forum and eBay.

I've taken this lens off of eBay.

The lens is still functioning perfectly and is as sharp as ever.

However I've realized there is a "cosmetic" or "user experience" issue.

The front lens barrel that includes the filter-threads and covers the body of the lens in front of the focus ring is very slightly "loose", meaning if you grasp it, you can wiggle it a couple of millimeters. You can even see a small screw-hole when you wiggle it to it's extreme. I suspect a missing screw is the reason, but the screw-hole is normally covered by the focus ring.

•Two trusted local technicians have declined dismantling the lens without risk of damage.
•I've contacted "conurus", but so far have not heard back.

I'm not sure it's in the wheelhouse of Conurus to fix. I suspect that now that Contax has orphaned the lens, only a West-Coast-based lens tech house like Duclos would dismantle/fix it which would probably be expensive.

So, I'll park this little jewel and use it sporadically when I need it.

Let me know if you have any thoughts or solutions.

Cheers!

Barth
