Hi
I am thinking about buying a used Zeiss N70-200. But I would much more prefer an M42-mount on it instead of a Canon-mount conversion.
With an M42 mount, I could use it on Canon, Pentax, Sony, Sigma, Olympus... so a lot more flexibility...
I know that I then do not have AF anymore and only stop-down metering. But I am fine with this restriction. I am doing the same now with Zeiss ZS lenses
Would this be possible and if yes how much would this cost?
Thanks in advance |

Unfortunately, the aperture diaphragm of a N mount lens is electronically controlled by the camera. While there is apparently an aperture ring on the lens, it was not mechanically coupled to the aperture diaphragm. Rather, it is "fly by wire", and requires power to do its trick. Without power and the appropriate commands to the lens, the lens will not stop down at all. _________________ I am a bird and I uncovered the E, EF and N-mount communication protocols! |
