Hi John Black, mwtphoto and all others waiting on parts,

Although the circuit board shortage is behind us I have a new problem unfortunately: I am now short of lens connectors. Sigma allows me to order a maximum of 5 per week, which used to be enough in the past but going forward I will probably convert more lenses in a week than that.

I have decided to manufacture my own lens connector so that I will have control over the supply. In the meantime, if you would order 5 of these from Sigma America (P/N 9270038, from a Sigma 28-80/3.5-5.6 asph lens in Canon mount), you will help solve the short term shortage. Please deduct US$57 from your total. ($10 per connector and they charge $7 shipping. If they charge you sales tax I will pay for that, too.) I will convert your lens ahead of all the others in return, and you may send in your lenses immediately, if you would help me order the connectors. Their web site is: http://sigma-photo.com/sigmaonlinemall/ebay_form.asp

Thank you very much in advance for your support. Since our inception we have been struggling with the supply chain. It has never been easy to custom-make only 100 pieces of something as most shops would simply refuse small orders and those who take them would charge exorbitant prices. We are only a small crowd, without significant buying power collectively.

I am having trouble finding the parts section? Is the link the order page?

Yes, the hyperlink is the parts order page. There is a "Payment for" dropdown box. If you choose "Parts/Accessories Order", you could fill in the part number, part description (contact case housing for Sigma 28-80/3.5-5.6 Canon mount), price, shipping and total payment. Thanks!

I ordered 5 also. The 100/2.8 N arrived today, I'm still waiting on the 24-85 N which should arrive around Wednesday. I'm guessing the rings from Sigma will arrive in late next week - though, we have a holiday on the 4th, so that may delay things abit. The two lenses & five rings should be on their way Monday (July 9nth) if Sigma is prompt.

I Tried To Order A Large Number Of Connectors, But The Order Stalled. (Maybe Because Of Quantity)
Then I Tried To Phone An Order In, And Was Told They Are Only Open 9am To 12pm.
I'll Try Again On Monday ...
I Also Have A Friend In The Camera Repair Business, In San Antonio ...
I'll Get Him To Place A Large Order And See If We Can't Alleviate This Issue.

I think 5 per week per person is the limit Sigma has placed on spare parts order. This is reasonable for them because if there is an influx of large orders, their own service department will be left with no parts to use. Sigma has a great reputation of fast service turn-around and the only way they can achieve it is by managing their parts supply chain well. We should not disrupt their normal operations.

Does Sigma email a notice when the parts are shipped. I'm just waiting on the Sigma rings.

I did not receive an email, however I do see that my credit card was charged for $57 so I hope that means they are shipping soon.

Just Received A Call From Sigma Parts Department, About My Order.
They Have Had A Rash Of Orders On This Particular Part. (Wonder Why)
They Wanted To Know What I Was Going To Do With This Part. Told Them
Lens Conversion, And He Seemed Content....

He Said They Just Needed This Information For Stocking,
And Were Trying To Figure Out If The Needed To Increase Thier Stock.
Pleasant Enough, But They Have Noticed An Increase.
Cool Rolling Eyes Cool

Mine arrived on Tuesday. Since there was no charge yet on the credit card, nor any type of notification from Sigma, I was pleasantly surprised.

Looking at the invoice it looks like the order sat around for about a week before it was filled. The order was filed June 29nth, it was "filled" July 6th, and the charge appeared (finally) on July 9nth. The connectors arrived on July 10th.

Got A Set Of "5" Today...
Where Do We Stand? Should I Order "5" More? Or Are We At A Good Stock Point?
They Will Be Coming Your Way, With The Second 24-85mm I Get This Week.
