Hi, I would love to see this conversion available. Pentax seems to be the only brand continuing the 645 digital torch, and this would keep these beloved Contax Zeiss 645 lenses working with medium format! Thoughts? |

Pentax 645 has a significantly longer flange distance (70.9mm) than Contax 645 (64mm). It would not be possible to modify Contax 645 lenses to fit on Pentax 645. (Even disregarding the fact that Pentax 645 controls AF and aperture mechanically but Contax 645 is electronic.)
We are still able to attach digital backs on the original Contax 645 camera body. If you need a new medium format camera to use Contax 645 lenses, you may want to look into for example the Hartblei HCam B1 or the ALPA 12 FPS. _________________ I am a bird and I uncovered the E, EF and N-mount communication protocols! |
