Digital-Hobby in Tokyo delivered my Metabones adapter to me a few days ago and I have finally got around to check if my Sigma lenses would match and I have found them in proper working order with no apparent problem. The adapter's firmware is v.04, which I assume is the latest.
The lenses I have tested are 12-24/4.5-5.6 II DG HSM, AF 24-70/2.8 IF EX DG HSM, APO 70-200/2.8 EX DG OS HSM, APO 150-500/5-6.3 DG OS HSM and 85/1.4 EX DG HSM and my NEX-7 calibrates correct maximum/minimum aperture readings on all these lenses. Although the AF does not work, the focus-aid kicks in and that is quite helpful. The image stabilizer seemed to work on longer zooms too.
I am also fitting convereted Contax N lenses and they are fun. You've done a great job, Conurus!
I have a couple of questions: Should I mount the adapter first to the lens and then to the camera? Also, I assume that the connector is for updating FW but what is the small button next to the tripod mount and what does it do? |

The order of mounting doesn't matter.
The button next to the data connector is the "wide open" button, which is the exact opposite of depth of field preview. While depressed the lens would be wide open to aid manual focusing. _________________ I am a bird and I uncovered the E, EF and N-mount communication protocols! |
