That is a good new conurus can make Contax N to Canon EF mount conversion.
my question is.
I would like to know focusing speed of carl ziess lens same as EF canon lens or not when use with canon 5D.
Now, I have P85/1.4 and VS17-35/f2.8 and N1
I have problem about focusing speed and acculated focus that mean diificault to cadid shooting. |

Hi titti,
Welcome to the board!
AF speed depends on 2 things: the lens, and the camera body.
The Canon 5D camera body focuses much more quickly than a Contax N1. Therefore, the same 17-35/2.8 lens focuses much more quickly on the 5D than on the N1.
But the Carl Zeiss lens itself turns more slowly than a Canon lens. That is because Carl Zeiss lenses are constructed with heavy metal focusing helicoils, which are slower to turn.
Since you already own the Contax N1, you will notice a significant improvement in AF speed for the two lenses you own once you convert them to Canon EF mount. _________________ I am a bird and I uncovered the E, EF and N-mount communication protocols! |
