I just bought into the COntax N1 system. I have the following items: 50mmF1.4 lN ens, NAM-1 (to use my 645 lenses!) and a N1 kit with the 24-85mm zoom lens. I noticed that the zoom lens will not go down entirely to the 24mm setting. Its about 3/4 way down to the 24mm Numbers, but not quite there.

Any suggestions as to if this is the norm? The NAM-1 adapter along with my Contax 645 lenses, will allow me to have a more rounded system. Any tips as to what I should be aware of here?

Who did you get the 24-85 lens from? Not zooming down to 24mm is a definite problem and I would be sending it back to the seller.

I bought this used kit from B & H Photo. It came with the lenshood, front lenscap, strap, body, and manual. I received it today and notice that the lens will not stop down exactly to 24mm setting. Its off by a hair.

I was going to play with camera bit after reading the manual.

Let's hope that the lens is okay. I shot off a quick Heads-Up to the B & H Photo folks.

My 24-85 does not stop exactly at 24mm either, but just a hair short of it. Mine is pointing at the left edge of '4' instead of between '2' and '4'. Where exactly is yours pointed at?

Conurus,

Basing it on your evaluation as stated, (I'm at work and don't have the lens in front of me) Its exactly as you stated. I'm probably going to have to shot another roll of film to see if the 24mm setting is okay and sharp.

I'm planning on using my 645 lenses along with the 50mm and 24-85mm zoom. In the near future I will acquire a full frame Canon digital SLR and extra N lenses for the conversion.

Thanks for your info
