Hi,
To all owners of the 17-35 I have a question. When I manually focus mine, the focusing ring turns pretty freely with very, very light damping. It is smooth and not loose or wobbly, but it is in distinct contrast to my 85 and 24-85, and a 100 makro I tried, all of which have smooth, heavily damped focusing.
It this "light touch" focusing normal for this lens? It functions perfectly in all other respects.
Thanks for your input.

Yes you are right. All 17-35's I have seen have smooth but very lightly damped focusing rings. _________________ I am a bird and I uncovered the E, EF and N-mount communication protocols! |
