Hi folks. I have an N C/Z 28-80mm lens & would like to know please if the N-C/Z Canon EOS adapter has a 4/3 adapter available? Seems a bit convoluted as the AF may not function.
Ideally the N-C/Z 28-80 lens has a 4/3 adapter - as I would like to use it on an Olympus e620. I don't mind if it is MF only. Thanks.

Your idea is great but it is not feasible due to the electronic aperture.

While many people can live with manual focusing it is unacceptable if there is no aperture control and the lens always shoots wide open.

Both Canon and Contax N controls the aperture electronically and our lens mount conversion takes care of the protocol translation.

4/3 also controls the aperture electronically but we have no information about the 4/3 mount and no plans to work on that mount.

A Canon to 4/3 adapter is impossible due to mount clearance problems.

We do not know if a Canon to micro 4/3 adapter exists, but even if it does it would suffer from the same problem of not being able to control the electronic aperture.

Thanks for that insight - so there is no manual focusing for the C/Z N lens if it cannot communicate electronically with the camera body? Camera body choices are limited to the Canon EOS & obsolete Contax N or 645. What a waste of a good Zeiss lens.
Cheers. Malcolm

Hi Malcolm,

Manual focusing works, it is not where the problem is.

The aperture does NOT work and cannot be controlled unless the camera body sends the lens the proper commands.

The aperture ring you see on the lens is "fly by wire" and does not directly control the aperture diaphragm inside the lens.

As of today, only a genuine Contax N camera body or our Conurus circuitry sends the proper commands to move the aperture diaphragm.

Thanks for that - If I could warrant the conversion cost + a canon eos body I would post the lens to you.
One day you may see a possibility of converting to 4/3 - which is allowing for a universal standard fitting. (Mirror clearance issues aside etc...).
Is there a market to sell this lens -which is in pristine condition?
Such a waste of a great lens !!

cheers

malcolm
