Only the 1.4x extender is supported for a converted 400/4.

The 2x extender is not supported.

Is this Extension Tube EF 12 II supported for the converted 85/1.4 and 50/1.4?

I do have the Canon 1.4x and you can use it on 70-300 if you zoom the lens to 300mm position. The rear element of the lens will hit the extender if you zoom the lens to shorter range. By the way you may use other brand 1.4x extender such as Tamron on 70-300N

You can still use canon 2x on N400 but you may lost the AF function. You can reactivate the AF function by a simple modification on the extender. However, the af speed is just ........... and I do not recommend you to do this.

Using the N400 without using AF is possible if you have the suitable focusing screen. And it is pretty good since the focusing ring on N400 is big and responsive as the old school manual focusing lens. I do install a split focusing screen on my Kodak SLR/c. It is better if you can find a ground glass focusing screen (specific for tele lens focusing) for your camera.

Just thought I'd add my own experience with Canon 2x extender and the 100mm Makro. The rear glass will hit the extender if you focus out all the way, but towards the 1:1 end you can use it. Of course I would recommend disabling autofocus at that time to reduce the chance of having it hit by accident.
