I found my 50D + N24-85 gives me a nice metering on 24 end but it becomes over-exposed on 85 end, by +1 to +1 2/3 EV, in Av mode.

Did anyone get similar situation?

Thank you for your problem report.

All exposure problems have one of these two causes:

1, a physical problem due to the aperture diaphragm being malformed, misaligned or mis-calibrated, or

2, an electronic problem due to an inaccurate meter.

I would suggest first narrowing down the problem. Please kindly test against a uniform background (e.g. a wall) in M exposure mode using the same shutter speed and the same aperture value. The exposure should be more-or-less the same regardless of focal length.
