Hello all,

Some of you may know me from Fred's site. I tested and reported on the prototype BrightScreen for the R9/DMR (Guy and I received ours at the same time) and the prototype for the 5D. I made one of the early reports on the R9/DMR's focussing problems, sadly.

Having used a number of great Zeiss lenses (some bought from members here!) I am excited about getting AF and AE on the N-series lenses on EOS bodies. I had no idea this was possible: thank you Fred (for his site) and Bo-Ming (the most dextrous parrot the world has yet seen).

This development will be enough to get me back into Canon FF bodies—I think a 1Ds, providing it has had the sensor replaced; my one had terrible banding in the shadows. cheers to all, KL

I have decided to take the plunge and go for the 5D. I already have a few nice C/Y and Leitz lenses with adapters but a 24-85 zoom would be a nice everyday lens.

Can you please let me know how to get one converted to N mount?

Thanks,
Ray

I am not a professional photographer, but might be if I had as much talent as I have interest. Smile Instead, I teach English and Professional Communication here at Clemson.

As part of my mission to prove I am not a robot, I thought everyone might enjoy a picture of the only member of the conurus family that was native to this part of the world.

I say "was" because there are no longer any Carolina Parakeets left in the wild, which is a great shame. As you can see, they were beautiful.

That's easy enough. I'm a relatively human being.
I registered when checking the status of my lens and looking to see the comparisons of the 24-85 vs. 24-70.

Word up. Just checking in.

I've been over at FM.com for a while (I recognize a few familiar names from FM here on Conurus' board). Good to meet you all.

You're lucky, Jack. I had sold all my N lenses and ended up re-buying them Sad ...

Looking for sympathy - ha - When I resold your 50 1.4 I was told that it was to a woman that had dropped her N 1 and damaged the lens - I asked why she didn't just get a 24-85 and was told she wanted a 50 again.
I gave it up for what I paid you -
Then I met this "woman" and he thanked me - he had resold the lens and made some real money because he saw they were going up in value.
The 70-300 is still on my shelf.

The dealer who arranged this is someone you know on Long Island who I believe neither of us now speaks to.

We should have both figured this out at the diner -
