Dr. B, will the lense you just sold, 24-80 Contax work ok with the Canon 5D with the 580EX11 flash in the ETTL mode ? The reason I ask is the contax lense is NOT a fixed aperture and will that work with ETTL mode or do you have to compensate f stops ? Thanks, rollsman

We have not specifically tested that combination. Our "official" test platform is a Metz 54 MZ-3 flash with a SCA 3102 M3 foot which is in fact a E-TTL flash, on either a EOS 1Ds (E-TTL) or a Digital Rebel XTi 450D (E-TTL II). We occasionally borrow other camera bodies for testing (e.g. 50D, 5DII, 1Ds3). That said a converted 24-85 does convey variable aperture and distance information to the camera body.
